So far so good

Dad didn't get a ton of sleep last night due to the breathing alarm going off whenever he breathed through his mouth, but he is looking and sounding stronger today. He can swab his own mouth. I caught him catching up on work emails.

Mom did some medical bills paperwork.

I got there in time to see Dad get up and over to the chair for the first time.

He's working on his lung capacity. The nurse is a former respiratory therapist and will not have any pneumonia on her watch.

He also got up for his first walk around the unit. The nurse said to just go as far as he could. "Well, I'm a runner." No sweat doing one lap. The hardest part is standing up.

Lastly, Mom was able to get out for fresh air, fresh lunch, and some granddaughter "rest" time.
